Ms. Cabrera's Plan Book

Brianna Cabrera holds a degrees in English and Journalism from OU. She's been doing freelance writing for a couple of Hathian's fine citizens and several no-name magazines. She is an aspiring reporter of the Hathian Observer, but has yet to produce anything ground breaking or earth shattering.  While her lack of success thus far in this strange city of Hathian has been frustrating, Brianna has yet to give up. In fact, today she has a renewed sense of ambition. She's just received a phone call offering her a position at Seaside High School, where she will be the Yearbook Committee Advisor, in addition to her duties in the language arts department. To start the year off, she pulls out her Lesson Plan book and includes her course proposal:

Course Title: Yearbook Committee
Meeting Time: Mondays 6-7:30pm
Grade Levels: 9-12th Grade Students

Rationale: Students will incorporate photography and photoshop skills to produce the layout of the yearbook, while they utilize their language arts skills to interview their peers, draft articles, add captions, and thoroughly edit their work to produce a yearbook that chronicles the happenings and captures the spirit of Sea Side Elementary & High School.

Lesson Topics will revolve around the following core concepts:
Teamwork
Basic Photography
Basic Digital Photo Processing
Interview Techniques
Writing Skills
Peer Editing

Brianna blows on the ink to dry it and slowly runs her finger over the page, admiring her proposal and congratulating herself on her new position. She looks at her cellphone, wondering who she could share the news with, sighing a bit when she realizes that the only person on her contact list who might give a hoot is her mama back in Oklahoma. She sighs and tucks her Plan Book into her new briefcase, before making the call home.... "Mama? Yer talkin' to the newest member of the faculty at SeaSide Ha School" the conversation would begin....
