A Mother's Love... Michelle's Baby Book 8

(Entry 8- February 21) Tessi would draw Michelle's baby book from its place, complete with the pen she uses only for journaling in it. She sits curled on the couch with Michelle sleeping in a bassinet at her feet. With great focus and intention, she sets to a long overdue update.

My Little Turtle,

It's been so long since I've taken the time to sit with your baby book to share with you the thoughts running through mommy's head and your own progress. But it wasn't because I was too busy FOR you, more that I've been too busy with you! As you grow, you sleep less! And that means more time for mommy to play with you! And one of mommy's favorite games is to sit you on your blanket and watch you roll to your back. What a big girl you're becoming! But then you get stuck and flail your little arms around; it reminds mommy of a turtle! But don't you worry; you're going to master rolling from your back to your tummy very soon. And then mommy will be in big trouble! You'll be rolling all over the place!

Daddy came to play with you today. And ya know what? That always makes Mommy smile. If there's anyone in the world who loves you as much as Mommy, it's your dad. He's been in the hospital and just got out yesterday. And yet, there he was sitting beside your bassinet playing with you. I know it hurt him to move around, but he did that for you. Because you are soooo special that mommy and daddy don't want to miss a tiny moment in watching you grow up!

And you know who else loves you? Auntie Kay and your godfather Ellis. They both keep asking about you and can't wait to babysit you! Mommy's afraid to let them! They're going to spoil you rotten. :-)

I guess it's time for me to say tata for now. Mommy's got some homework to do and procrastination is never the answer-- Remember that, Chelle Bell.

Love you,
Mommy.

With that, Tessi closes the baby book and returns it to its place. She peers into the bassinet and leans to kiss her sleeping babe. Then she sighs deeply and scrounges around in her book bag for a textbook to begin the evenings studies.
